Interestingly, most of the texts that I found on physical fitness were directed at girls. This text, however, is perfect for both girls and boys. This text consists of lesson plans that teachers and educators can use to fulfill the physical fitness requirement in school. These ideas range from individual to group activities. Each lesson explains what the game does for the player physically. This book does not meet many of my criteria, but I felt that it was important to find a text that addresses physical fitness, but is not directed towards one gender over the other.

I am not even a little athletic, but I really loved this book. Bailey's approach is all about not creating adults like me who are afraid of sports. It's also about creating adults who live healthy lifestyles that naturally include physical activities. His ideas for homeschoolers are creative and practical, and his writing is concise and readable. Really nicely done. ( )
