This is not made for TV. This is the raw, brutal underground of no-holds-barred combat. Inside the cage there is nothing but me and the pain I inflict on those who dare enter. In the cage, I never have to worry about anyone but myself. Yet, when she began standing outside of the cage, everything changed. I was no longer fighting for the money or the glory - I was fighting for her.… (more)

So good!! The book is entirely told from Liam's POV. At first, I didn't think I would like that but it totally works for this book. Liam is such an enigma and you only get little pieces as the story goes on. Because you don't get Tria's POV you also don't fully understand her life before either. And what you are told, is MESSED UP! I hope Liam keeps her far away from Beals. I am terrified they will have a fight or something will happen and she will have to go back to that God awful place.
Warning: HUGE cliffhanger! But, book 2 is already out and I think book 3 comes out very soon.
Heat rating: 2 (no sex between Liam and Tria but he jerks off a lot!)

I don't know how to categorize this book. Yes, Liam is a cage fighter, and fighting is a major component of the story. There is also so much other happening. The current situation is Liam is crushing on Tria. He's a fighter. She's a college student. They both live on the bad side of town and struggle all the time just to survive. As their tale progresses, bits of their pasts are slowly dropped in with everything else. The reader is trying to figure out where they're headed and where they've been.

For me, some parts before the 40% mark were a little slow, but after that I was hooked. The more I learned, the more I wanted to know. There's lots of psychology which I'm really into. Liam is a great man so it's easy to fall for him. He's a tough guy without all the macho crap that comes with it often. Tria's background is very uniquely odd so that definitely got my attention. I will positively be reading the next book. I really want to know where this is all headed because I have no idea.
