I kept seeing this book mentioned and finally purchased it. I do love Ruth Heller’s strong and bold illustrations. A lovely nature book. ( )

Even though what the book is taking bout aren't really plants the book is a good way to explain to children about different types of things that grow out in nature.

I would use this book in 2nd-4th grade. You can use it on a lesson about the plant cycle or use it for a lesson on poetry. With either lesson using this book for choral reading will help the students with their fluency in reading aloud. ( )

This is a beautifully illustrated informational book for younger elementary children with simple, rhyming text that flows through the vivid full page illustrations. The text relates the many unusual, interesting, and lovely plants that do not bloom. Grat book to hook children or adults for that matter on science.
