"... Dirk Gently: a detective with a belief in the fundamental interconnectedness of all things, a unique relationship with the laws of probability and physics, and a love of cats and pizza. In his first-ever comic series, Dirk has been forced to leave his beloved England behind, coming to the too-sunny, too-cheery, and altogether too-bizarre-even-for-Dirk city of San Diego, California, where he gets embroiled in three separate (or are they?) cases involving reincarnated Egyptians, golden cell phones, and copycat killers"--Back cover.… (more)

Read all my reviews on http://urlphantomhive.booklikes.com

I was previously unfamiliar with Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently (although of course I've read The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy & The Restaurant at the End of the Universe), but I found the idea of all things being somehow connected intriguing, so I wanted to give it a try.

To say it nicely, I was seriously underwhelmed by this graphic novel. It didn't do anything for me. The story was weird and random, sure, which to some extend I had expected. But it left me confused and it didn't make too much sense. The art was not something that stood out for me either.

Maybe I didn't get the book. It certainly wasn't for me.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! ( )

No, this is not Dirk Gently!
Nothing like the original, no soul.
Doesn't sit comfortably in California, nor in cartoon form for me.
I was given a digital copy of this book by the publisher Diamond Book Distributors via Net Galley in return for an honest unbiased review. ( )
