Zachary's ball is a great book to teach children how to draft an opening during writing. It may be used for writers workshop or just a read aloud book. (

good for teaching children about memories that they have had. this is also a good book to use when learning how to write with detail because through out the book the author puts detail on what Zach sees.

This story can really connect with students who not only love sport, but also finally get to do something they've always dreamed of doing. As a teacher, this book can be used as a mini-lesson on how to craft your lead to your story. (

This is a great book used for writers workshop when learning how to craft leads. This is also just a great book for boys who may not enjoy reading yet and are into sports. Great story about dreaming and baseball. (
