An interesting story about a boy with Dutch parents, growing up in the Dutch Indies (now Indonesia), being friends with an Indonesian boy. The Dutch boy doesn't feel at home in his own family, he longs to be with the Indonesian people, but in the end they don't accept him either. ( )

Reasonable book, shows how a country can shift in only a few years time; and how time can alienate people from each other. It's reasonably clear and it's not a very thick; nor a very hard book to read. It's accessible for people who are not used to read that much. ( )
