I found this book intriguing. It's a little out there in the sense that this happening to a real person is not very likely, but that is part of the fun. I liked that the main character, Selah Morgan, is not a size 0 woman but more accurately reflects real Americans. I like that her character is not perfect. I like that she has struggles (a barely running computer consulting business, balancing her wants with her family responsibilities etc.) and I like that she has a loyal best friend.

During a fan event for her favorite soap opera, The Winds of Change, Selah gets lost and incredibly, ends up talking to the show's producer and head writer. Despite the fact that some of her words are critical of the current state of the show, the producer sees something she likes in Selah and creates a SoaperFan persona for Selah which involves consulting and blogging. During her time as the SoaperFan, Selah also gets to meet Cane Ashton, her absolute dream crush. Of course, as par for fiction, she and Cane become friends and eventually boyfriend/girlfriend. In a twist, Cane has a twin brother who comes to Selah's hometown when the show visits there and seems to fall in love with Selah's best friend! Stay tuned for more! ( )
