No current Talk conversations about this book. 2021 ( ) The Day the Babies Crawled Away was so well-loved in our house that pages were falling apart and absolutely ripped to pieces! The poem is beautifully cadenced, and the silhouetted picture lend themselves to be carefully pored over. Peggy Rathmann won the Caldecott Medal for Officer Buckle and Gloria, but I think this book is even better. Ages 2 and up (and I mean up to adult!) should adore this book! A young boy notices that all the babies have ran away from the fair. He attempts to chase them down over hills and trees and even caves. As we follow this journey we see the young boy making sure all the babies are safe, as he tries to take them back home. After a long day of chasing the babies he finally gets them back to the fair and the parents cheer! no reviews | add a review
