Three years ago, Jory Harcourt changed his name and shut the door on a past full of pain, only to emerge stronger on the other side. He has a new career, a great working partner, and a satisfying life -- except for the hole in his chest left behind when police Detective Sam Kage walked out with his heart. Now Sam's back and he knows what he wants... and what he wants is Jory. Jory, who doesn't know if he can survive another break up or losing Sam to his dangerous job, resists returning to the arms of the only man he has ever truly loved. In these two stories we learn quite a lot more about Jory. He is much messier than he has appeared, but there is cleverness too, and a wicked survival instinct. Among other things, the first story here contains one of the best proposal scenes I've ever read, and the second story is full of twists. Like, stay on your toes we're not done yet twists.

Bulletproof is checked out and awaiting me, in case you wonder if I'm enjoying these. Besides all those stars. ( )

Dane Harcourt and Jory Keyes. These two men are so different but they work so well together. Jory just gets Dane with all his quirks and sharp angles, he loves him for who he is. And Dane is such a character - half the time I was amused, the other half I was mildly irritated. But in the end the moments they had were touching and very heart-felt. They created a family of their own as brothers. ( )

The first Volume was a nice read, but the second is just too much. Jory is too beautiful, everyone loves him and he saves every situation. He is simply too good. And beautiful. And irresistable. And beautiful. And adorable. And beautiful. And everybody loves him. Because he is ... well maybe you can guess (if not: beautiful).
It gets old fast. And it wears the story down. Not a good read, even if you liked the first volume. ( )
