The verbage-to-useful-info ratio is pretty poor. I would've liked more specific information on different cultural/religious traditions, or more structured how-tos, or even just a citation now and then (there are too many vague statements about what "native peoples" thought and did, and no bibliography). It looks like a reference book, but it's just one woman's unresearched feelings/ideas about altars.

The two stars are for the photos, which are great! I wish the publisher had commissioned a book of altar photos instead. ( )

Have you guessed that I am a fan of Denise Linn? Altars by Denise Linn has over 100 photos and drawings to illustrate the ideas in the book. You'll come away with many ways to incorporate your intentions into your space easily. This book is out of print. Many copies are available on the used market. ( )
