No current Talk conversations about this book. this book has beautiful real photographs of different animals feet. the first picture will show a fin you can ask the children whose feet are those when they have guessed you can turn the page over and say you were right it was a seal! I enjoy books like this because it helps children see realistic things not just cartoons versions of animals. I think this is a really fun book for directed use. I don't know if the average kid would pick this up and read it from cover to cover, but it's a fun book to read with or to a kid. The refrain goes like this, "[Description of a foot] belongs to..." with a photo of the described foot. Then, turn the page and the next photo shows the whole animal and a detailed description of why that foot is unique. The text is under 165 words and the font is simple and maybe a size 15-18. It's very readable for beginner and intermediate students, but I think it's a lot more fun (possibly more effective) to read it aloud with younger kids. Summary: This book shows a picture of a foot and then on the next page tells what the animal is. Personal Reaction: I think this book is actually very interesting. Classroom Extension: This book would be great for a lesson about animals and it would be a good way to explain the different ways animals use their different feet. no reviews | add a review
