The creepy overtones continue as an immortal god with an adult form shows a discomforting interest in the pre-treen girl he has taken as a bride. For instance, there is no subliminal penis in this image as the god teleports away after watching the girl and her friend sleep.

And this is magic dripping from his fingertips onto her face

Fortunately, by the end of the book there is a time jump and the characters seem to be at least somewhere in their teens. Still creepy, but less so maybe? Hrm. ( )

Quotations
This is the first time I have used my powers on this village.

The legends those fools believe have only just begun to come true … the blessings and curses they believe in are just the natural cycles of the earth.

Why do they believe that the gods would move for the sake of humans?

Why do they believe it is the duty of the gods to do what they cannot?

What would make them believe that just because they cannot do something, someone else can?

Why these expectations … why do they want so much more?

Do they believe gods will heed the wishes of mere humans?

They believe that the wrath of the gods will bring disaster upon them … so why do they persist in angering me?

Book description
Chap 5-8 – annoyed at the villagers' continued mistreatment of Asahi, mostly at the urging of the mother of Suburu & Shiina, the water dragon god plucks Asahi to safety, and gleefully floods the village. Asahi, still voiceless, tries to stop him, but he accidentally knocks her into the water, where she finds Subaru. The Water Dragon God saves them from afar, casting them on land, and Asahi struggles to care for Suburu, with a little subtle help from Fire God and the Water Dragon. While they are sleeping, the Water Dragon God gives Asahi her tears as a protection. Whenever she cries, it rains. Asahi learns that a female doctor from her own world was also stranded in this one, and never found a way home. Asahi accepts that she must make her life in the world where she finds herself. When the villagers find them, they revere Asahi as Lady Asahi, the priestess of the Water Dragon God.
