This series is a spin off of the captain underpants series. ( )

The creator of this book is incredible. Dav Pilky had a huge impact on my childhood reading in his writing, "Captain Underpants". This is a comic style book that has several different stories within it. Dog Man is a police chief's dog who helps the department when he is not being silly. This fiction book is filled with humor, but helps the reader experience a different writing style. ( )

There is never, ever, a dull moment in this goofy story about the most bizarre characters you are likely to meet (until the next Dav Pilkey book). Young readers are sure to be rolling with laughter and eager to keep turning pages as it’s impossible not to be curious about what these crazy creatures will do next. This is a fun read-aloud for younger kids while kids 7 will enjoy flipping through the pages themselves, reading along at their own pace.

These books are really good to get children reading. I read this book with my nephew and he seemed to enjoy it and laugh the whole way through. I feel like these books a really engaging because they are written in comic book style. I really enjoyed reading this book and would definitely use this in my classroom library. These books are more appropriate for older kids who can already read. ( )
