This author made this story grab onto every emotion, tear it out of my body, and put it into a blender. She created characters that were so perfectly heartbroken that the only way to make them whole again was to put them on the journey to merging their hearts again. Lexie and Killian needed end each other as much as they needed air to breathe. Lexie truly was the light and glue. Yet, even the light needs the darkness at times so that it doesn't burn out. The same can be said for Kill needing the light to shine in his darkest times. I loved seeing new moments in with Zane and Mia and the kids too. I just loved this duet. I loved that it was a story of hope and beauty. At this point in the game, this author could write the phone book and I would read it. I will gladly keep giving her all my money just to ensure she keeps writing all these stories that touch my soul and change my template of the person I am. no reviews | add a review

So Lexi's life is endangered due to her famous lifestyle and Killian uses it as an opportunity to insert himself back into her life. I loved the fact that despite all his advances she doesn't just fall back into his arms, as if she couldn't resist, she fights him and its a fine balance between too much fight or not enough with these sort of story-lines but i felt Anne Malcom gets it just right. That said it is a very emotional read, lots of painful conversations as to why Killian broke it off and the effect it has had on them both.
I also found it well expressed the way he sees that her lifestyle is not what he thought it would be, all the promo work and falseness. He thought he was releasing her to live out her dreams but it has also cost her and marked her and she is not the same idealistic dreamer she was from book one. Music is one thing, the fame is something completely different. He tried to protect her from the dark side of the world and yet here she is in the middle of it.
The scene is also set for stories on the band.
I also like that in the three/four years they have been apart there is not much detail about their relationships with others, its unrealsitic to think there would be no other love interests but I hate the man-whore story-lines and with Killian being part of the biker scene i really didn't want to read that esp when 'Lexi' is his one.
There is also lots of mention of Peyton who we read about in Amy's story, as Ian's friend who has left the marines and is now running a security firm, this opens up an opportunity for a whole new spin off series... he he.
