( ) A brown-skinned girl tells the reader her favorite things of the moment in loose rhyme, and there's a gentle twist at the end, where the final picture shows the girl in her mother's lap, reading a book together: "And this is my favorite NOW / because it's the one I am having / with you." * Re-read May 2019, June 2019 What a great philosophy to introduce to children, although honestly, I think children could teach adults a thing or two about living in the Now. Beautiful illustrations and a simple tale of a girl sharing her favorite things with the reader. Turns out, her favorite rain, tree, hug, everything, is what is happening right now.
