"As a big storm approaches, two strangers arrive in the forest. All the animal families, safe in their homes, are worried, unsure of their motives. So they all turn them away when they ask for shelter, and the strangers are left to fend for themselves. But then the fox family is suddenly forced out into the storm, and they must ask these outsiders for help. Will they find it in their hearts to give it? A timeless - and timely - story about generosity, and the difference even small acts of kindness can make to those in need."--… (more)

Particularly apt as the weather grows more fierce and disasters more common in our world. A good and thoughtful read to be prepared for such a contingency. Lovely illustrations, too. ( )

A story about a group of animals who are preparing for an upcoming storm. When two brothers come by looking for shelter, warmth, or food, the animals do not share what they worked so hard for. In the end the fox's end up losing their own shelter but ask the brothers if they will share with them and they do. This book teaches about how kindness and generosity can go a long way.

A simple and sweet story about a group of animals who prepare themselves for an upcoming storm. But when two brothers come by seeking shelter, warmth, or food, the animals will not share what they worked so hard for. This is a wonderful message that begs to be taught to children. Teaches about how kindness and generosity can go a long way. ( )
