Gannon was swoon worthy and Paige was a strong woman trying to make it in a man's world. I loved the chemistry and banter between them. It added to the build up at the end. The ending was one of my favorites that I have read in any book. The lengths Gannon went to in order to show his love for Paige was the stuff all little girls dream of when they are little. I wish there were more Gannon's in the world. no reviews | add a review
"Gannon King is great with his hands and--if you believe what you read on Twitter--he's 'sex in a toolbelt.' The reality TV star learned his lesson about falling for pretty packages the hard, painful, humiliating way and he's not making that mistake again. Sure, 'Legs' is gorgeous as hell and smart-mouthed--two of his favorite qualities in a woman. But she's an icy network kiss-ass. At least, that's what he thinks until he catches her being human. Field producer Paige St. James has zero time for temperamental stars, especially Gannon who does his best to get under her skin. She's got plans to get out of reality TV and do something that matters. But ratings are king and, when Paige and Gannon's sparks are captured by cameras, the network smells a time slot victory. After an on-set accident and a vindictive celebrity 'girlfriend, ' Paige finds her reputation in tatters and her job hanging by a thread. She never should have trusted him ... But now that he's gotten those talented hands on her, Gannon's never letting go."--Page 4 of cover No library descriptions found. |

Mr. Fixer Upper uses the recent popularity of home renovation shows to create a backdrop for the romance between Gannon and Paige. The structure of the plot is a tough sell because of the back and forth nature of the protagonists' relationship throughout the story. Also the subplot involving a purposed documentary about the inequality of women in the workforce is a nice idea, but it detracts from the romance and never really gets its due in the narrative. Other plot points are also left unresolved leaving this novel feeling a bit incomplete. Overall, Mr. Fixer Upper doesn't deliver on the promise of its premise. ( )
