What begins as a simple, helpful gesture at the end of a rodeo, when Julian helps Kaycee load his resistant horse into her trailer, quickly turns into an extremely hot encounter between strangers. Not that they remain strangers for long, but initially, that is who they are. To my amusement, they even made it to dinner before their encounter – some cowboys do have manners, I guess. It made me smile, but I have to admit that I feared for the ice cream to go from the moment they grabbed it. Luckily, that was the only part for which this didn’t end well.

Kaycee works the rodeo circuit and loves it. He takes good care of his animals, and when his sister's stepson, who is supposed to help, doesn’t manage to keep the horse in check, Kaycee is just a little annoyed. Not for long though, since the man who helps out definitely has his interest. What follows is some fun flirting, a great dinner (where said ice cream is asked for to go since they no longer want to wait), and some very hot activities in a motel bedroom (after which said ice cream is creatively used as dipping sauce).

If you like cowboys, and if you're looking for a short, fun read about two men who might decide to travel together from now on, then you will probably like this short story. ( )
