Five little chicks hatch, and boy are they born hungry! Exploring the environment, each chick finds a potential meal, each with a little rhyme. But those worms and bugs and strawberries and trout are probably too unwieldy for their newborn beaks, so their wise mama leads them to the corn patch for a scratch fest. An excellent choice for counting, identifying colors, and doing animals sounds and actions. Tafuri's trademark colored pencils make for brightly textured and engaging illustrations that stretch across full-page spreads.
