So far only listened to:

On the Road to the Hell of Hungry Ghosts by Richard Parks - 3*

The title caught my attention. I watched a series on Netflix (Glitch) which had a character try to justify his return from death by thinking he must be a "hungry ghost". From wiki Hungry ghost is a concept in Chinese & Vietnamese Buddhism and Chinese & Vietnamese traditional religion, representing beings who are driven by intense emotional needs ... The understanding is that all people become such a regular ghost when they die, and would then slowly weaken and eventually die a second time. Hungry ghosts, by contrast, are a much more exceptional case, and would only occur in very unfortunate circumstances, such as if a whole family were killed or when a family no longer venerated their ancestors.

You may want to read In Memory Of Jianhong, Snake-Devil in issue 226 first. It's an origin story of the characters in this story.
--------------

The story is set in ancient Japan. A father and daughter make their living as demon hunters for hire. There is a 3rd member of their group now, a snake-devil in human form. (Reason for the human form is given in the above linked story.) They are on their way to a job but they encounter a ghost that latches onto them and their going to have to help it or do an exorcism. They choose to help it. It's an interesting story but as with the last one, it's pretty tame.

It reminds me a bit of a TV series. You know how the main characters deal with an "issue" for the episode, then the next week it's a different "issue"? This kind of feels like that. I imagine I'll come across the characters again in future issues of BCS and I'll be willing to listen to the story especially if it's the same voice narrator. She did a good job.
