Carrie Longmire loves life with a passion--whether it's her job as a hospital CEO's admin, star pitcher for the hospital's softball team, or her latest romantic possibility, she gives 110 percent and won't take less from anyone else. Maybe that's why she's still single. She's never met anyone who could convince her they wanted anything more than a fling. Friendly was fun, but not where she wanted to hang her heart. Gina Antonelli had big dreams once, of riding her athletic achievements all the way to West Point and being the first in a long family line of soldiers to serve as an officer. When that dream died along with the girl she'd planned to marry one day, she'd vowed to forget about happily ever afters. Love hadn't gotten her anything but a broken heart and a ruined body. When Gina agrees to renovate Carrie's soon-to-be new house as a favor to her brother's boss, she doesn't welcome Carrie's overtures at friendship or her own unexpected attraction. This one was more out of the hospital than in it, which was a nice change of pace (and really I should of guessed it when I read the title, my bad). It's Carrie's turn to try and find love. This time she's moved into Harper's old house and it needs some tender loving care (and ripping out of kitchen and bathroom). Enter Gina. She's a construction supervisor for the family company and they're doing an addition to the Hospital, except, there's a snafu, and what she winds up doing is working on the updates for Carrie's house. Sparks fly as they do a dance around each other that revolves around a house building a little, and a lot of it around Softball as well. Since Gina coaches a team that's going up against the Rivers' team.
It's still a fun read for sure, and we get to keep learning about all these other characters while still having a front and center and different burgeoning relationship to read about as well. I think that Radclyffe is one of the best at these series that aren't relationship serieses, but towns or cities or friends serieses.
There was one story line that I sorta wish had maybe not been totally left hanging, but, to even that out, there was also the Blake/Margie subplot. Blake had a big change in his life, and it was cool to see his progression through this book, and if there's another book I hope that he's in there as the subplot too
