I received the ebook of Raising the Dead (Soul Broker Book 2) by D.B. Sieders from LibraryThing Early Reviewers. I found it to be a fast read with lots of fresh and interesting ideas on a genre that has become somewhat stale without a lot of new and ideas. I haven't read the first book, but this one gave enough background that a reader could understand the basics of what went on before, which was good. The story was one I found that I wanted to keep going back to, and it kept me turning the pages. The one thing I did have a bit of a problem with was the main character... I just didn't like her that much. I found she could be kind of annoying and had trouble controlling her anger and emotions in a mature way, but then again, I don't have her full backstory having come in on the second book, and some of her personality may have been shaped by what went before. On the plus side, there is lots of passion in the writing and the characters felt real and complicated. I would definitely look for more from this author in the future. ( )

Raising the Dead (Soul Broker Book 2) by D.B. Sieders is such an awesome book and I won it from LibraryThing! It is about Guardians, Angels (not all of them are so good), and a scary but adorable Reaper. It is a refreshing fantasy book with a touch of romance and a good bit of surprises. I was lost in the book! I didn't read the first book but wasn't lost at all in this one. Wonderful book! Won't miss the next one! What an ending! Did not see that coming at all! Surprises all the way through! ( )

Disclaimer: I received this book for free from LibraryThing in return for an honest review.

This is book two in the Soul Broker series. I had not read the first book in this series prior to reading this one however I was still able to follow the plot. That being said I now want to go back and read the first one since I enjoyed this one so much.

This story follows Vivian a mortal woman who made a deal with a guardian spirit in order to help her sister, Mia, and the man she loved. She is now working with the guardian spirits helping spirits and their loved ones. However she is also working with a reaper in secret. Reapers are suppose to be bad and guardians good but everything is not how it seems. Now a rogue guardian is out to get Vivian. Can she protect those she loves as well as herself?

I really enjoyed this book. I did not want it to end! It ended on a cliffhanger that left me excited to read the next book. Overall I would recommend it for anyone in interested in fun books with a supernatural element. ( )
