Veterinarian Melissa Anders has returned to her hometown to be the new town vet. When Melissa was a child her mother put her in the foster care system. Melissa's mother is also living in town and wants to reconnect with Melissa, but Melissa doesn't know if she wants to give her mother another chance. On top of this, Melissa's got a daily visitor to the veterinary clinic--handsome and charming Jason Lawrence who seems to own a wide variety of pets including a dog, a cat, a parrot, and a pig. She wonders if these animals are really his or does he have some other agenda? This was such an enjoyable read. The story is filled with wonderful and endearing characters, both human and animal. It's short, fast, fun, and totally super-cute and I completely enjoyed it. ( )
