Fiction. Romance. HTML:

Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey's hottest new team. They're burning up the iceâ??until a one-night-stand with the coach's daughter freezes one player in his skates.

Bishop Scott, co-captain. Not too shabby, huh? It's all part of my fresh start with the NHL's latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I cannot f***ing wait to show my old squad what they're missing.

But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin', and I'm fortunate enough to meet one who's looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.

Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It's the last place I expect to see her againâ??let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach's daughter. All of a sudden, we're picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That's when her dadâ??my bossâ??walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke's introducing me as her fiancé.

Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke's going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it's because this fake relationship feels way too re… (more)

Bishop meets Brooke at a bar where he was looking for a one-night stand. They next morning they meet again in her office where she works for the Arizona Vengeance, the team Bishop went to in the expansion draft. Her dad is the coach and walks into her office as they are getting reacquainted. Brooke comes up with a story about them dating in New York. They begin a fake relationship. Will they fool her dad? Will the fake turn real?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Bishop and Brooke. They kept strategizing when the best time to break up would be only to be drawn into a longer fake relationship. I liked that Brooke was not embarrassed to show Bishop affection in front of her dad. I liked when he sets Bishop straight. Bishop's mother is great. His teammates are great, and I look forward to reading their stories. I did not like Brooke's friend, Nanette. I figured she'd do what she did.

I cannot wait to grab the next book and revisit the Vengence. ( )

Not bad per se, just too bland and boring. Started out great, there was a really strong back-story built and the characters and secondary characters were also done really well but then it sort of fizzled out. The plot was lacking. ( )

I have enjoyed all of Sawyer Bennett's Arizona Vengeance Hockey novels and this one was no exception. The story is great and the characters are so real that you truly care about what happens to them. The writing style is one I thoroughly enjoy. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. ( )

Hockey romances are the best and Sawyer Bennett is a queen. This is the first in the spinoff series from the Carolina Fury series Bennett wrote. Here we have another playboy hockey player who meets a woman, hooks up with her and then scandal ensues. This time the scandal is the woman is the coach's daughter. SCANDAL! What starts as a fake relationship to appease Daddy, grows into a warm and loving relationship, full of sexiness and actual friendship. Such a nice twist on the insta-love trope. Definitely a welcome addition to the hockey romance world.

*I received this book in exchange for a review. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for continuing to fulfill my book habit. ( )
