Lots going on in this one -- no murder mystery (or at least not a modern one), but a pirate treasure hunter, real clues in the search for Upstream Mother, Harm's mother comes to town, and it's a race to find the treasure and claim it. As per usual, the Desperados are on the case, working hard and failing sixth grade. I hope they make it through, and I'm enjoying the very mild romance and the continuing death-defying adventures. Mo, Dale and Harm are back at it, solving mysteries as the youngest and most successful detectives in Tupelo Landing. This tiny town, where everyone knows everyone and they all eat together in the cafe every day sure holds a lot of secrets. In this episode the kids are searching for Blackbeard's treasure after a suspicious treasure-hunter shows up. They also continue to try to solve the mystery of where Mo came from the night she floated into town as a newborn. These books are terrific and I hope this isn't really the last in the series! ( )
