That smoking hot one-night stand with a former rock star? Turns out he's my son's new music teacher. Oops. But I didn't know that the night I met Campbell. All I knew was he played my body the same way he played a guitar - like he owned it. My libido is still high-fiving me after being self-served for too many years, and we're both ready for another night or two of fun, especially since we don't just have chemistry in bed - we connect over everything. That is, until I learn he's the man who'll be coming to my house twice a week to teach my son - the best music lessons money can buy. Time to turn down the volume on our shenanigans. Only that's easier said than done. *** I can rock a guitar solo in front of thousands, I can write chart-topping tunes, and I can absolutely stop thinking about my student's mother naked. After all, I'm a single parent too, and I know what it's like to put your kid first. That's what I do every damn day. Trouble is, now that I've had Mackenzie, it's hard - and I do mean hard - to stop wanting her. Harder too when I get to know her, and learn she's an awesome mom, a great friend, and, oh yeah, she happens to get along perfectly with my daughter. All we have to do is set some rules. No dating, no nookie when the kids are around, and no one gets hurt. It's all working out beautifully. Until we start breaking the rules, one by one. Making music with her in the bedroom is easy. But will we be more than just a real good time when the music stops?… (more)

A quick book about Campbell & MacKenzie. Musician extraordinaire vs trivia buff. Both are single parents and navigate the perils of dating and not telling their kids or going cold turkey. Cute and fun with the supporting cast of other band members, family, & friends. Looking forward to next in series ( )

Campbell is a former teen heartthrob and rock star. Now, he's a single father who moonlights with a small band and teaches private music lessons.

One night at The Grouchy Owl, he spots a brilliant, gorgeous woman that he just can't resist. So, he doesn't. It turns into a one night stand that Campbell never wants to end. He would love nothing more than to explore an actual relationship with Mackenzie. Too bad his next music lesson is her son! Oops :(

Mackenzie has never had a real romantic relationship. I mean, she slept with her best friend to help him figure out whether or not he's gay. And he definitely is. She definitely ended up pregnant. She is co-parenting with her bestie, a Broadway producer. He encourages her to have more fun in life since everything revolves around their son. Mackenzie can't remember the last time that she had a big O without a vibrator. Let alone the last time she had mind numbing sex. Ok, she has never had mind blowing sex. Which is why she took a chance with the brooding gorgeous hunk on the stage--and he gave her the answer to a trivia question. Trivia is a very odd hobby of hers.

Once Mackenzie and Campbell realize that Campbell is her son's violin tutor--they end their romantic relationship. Campbell can't get Mackenzie out of his mind. He loves helping Kyle with his homework. Mackenzie loves helping Campbell's daughter Samantha with her cooking videos. The more they are together, the more they are becoming intertwined in each other's lives. The more they want to rip each other's clothes off. They go cold turkey. No more spending time with each other's kids. No more lingering after lessons. No more coming to each other's homes. No more talking on the phone while watching the same shows on Netflix.

They are completely miserable. So are their kids. Kyle and Samantha parent trap them. They scheme to get their parents together.

This is a lighthearted, funny, and steamy romance filled with a lot of sexy dirty talk and sarcasm.

And they say actions speak louder than words. Blakely continues to take that saying to heart with her captivating characters and witty dialogue. Once Upon a Real Good Time is the start of something marvelous. Amidst bumbling cluelessness and magnetic attraction a family is made. Campbell and Mackenzie find that sometimes the most embarrassing moments can have an everlasting impact. Imperfect can turn out to be just right. Can't wait for what comes next in the Heartbreakers series. ( )

So we meet the first Campbell, I had gotten and ARC for the next book but I felt like I had to read this one first just to get the most out of these brothers and I was happy I did. So we met Campbell or Mason he was once part of a group the heartbreakers along with his brothers, first they were a duo until the third brother joined and they were famous. Now he is a single dad and a music teacher along with playing in a bar on weeknights. He sees Mackenzie one night and is instantly attracted, Mackenize is also a single mom who is a trivia queen and doesn't really have much of a life besides being a mom. When she is encouraged to let her hair down and have fun before her son returns from summer camp she does with Campbell and they had a fantastic night only to then find out he is her sons new teacher and you can't go there can you?..fun grab a copy and enjoy!
