So far only read a couple:

~ A Green Moon Problem by Jane Lindskold - 2*
It feels like two different stories. The first half is very boring, in one ear and out the other... skippable. I don't know why I didn't quit. I guess I didn't want silence. The second half becomes a "careful what you wish for". A man wants a particular girl to like him and he can ask the alien to help make it happen. He thinks he has all the kinks worked out.

“So let me explain. When I say I don’t want to live without Rita, I don’t mean I want to die. I don’t want her to die, either. I want us both to live. Together. Inseparable. Till death do us part. I’d like that death to be a long time from now.”

“Mortality is not a problem Tatter can solve,” Tatter replied seriously. “Even suns in time do die. Definitely, though, I can make certain that if I take on your problem (with the understanding that you wish me to do so in order that it cease to be a problem), then I will endeavor to find a solution that will draw you and Rita together without risking a diminution of the duration of either of your lives.”

For a brief instant, Jurgen thought about asking Tatter D’MaLeon if she could assure that he and Rita would be happy together, but he suspected that was like asking for an assured lifespan.

Instead he said, “And I’d like us to have a chance at being happy together. I don’t want a solution that will end up with her hating me.”

It was fun to see what the alien came up with.

~ We Will Be All Right by Carolyn Ives Gilman - 2*
SF. Sex kills men due to some virus. A mother is having her son's boyfriend over. She dreams of poisoning her before she can "kill" her son. She thinks through it and realizes it is inevitable and hopes that the GF has a son also so she will understand the pain. // That expression: You have a daughter for life but a son until he meets his wife.
