Fiction. Literature. Romance. Humor (Fiction.) HTML:Fall in love with this hilarious and heartwarming USA Today bestselling romantic comedy that LJ Shen calls "an absolute treat."
Kristen Peterson doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children.
Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen â?? especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family someday. Kristen knows he'd be better off with someone else, but as their attraction grows, it's harder and harder to keep him at arm's length.
The Friend Zone will have you laughing one moment and grabbing for tissues the next as it tackles the realities of infertility and loss with wit, heart, and a lot of sass.

The Prince: A Devil's Duke Novel by Katharine Ashe (parlerodermime)
parlerodermime: Both books are incredibly well-written complex romances with delightfully imperfect heroines with OCD and strong supporting characters.

    The Story:

I think at this point there is no book Mrs Jiminez can write that I won’t love. The chemistry between characters, the way she can completely suck you into a story, not to mention how lovable the characters are. It's amazing.

    The Random Thoughts:

I will refrain from talking about the way this book basically broke me. ( )

Kristen and Josh immediately hit it off, but she’s determined that they’re just going to be friends. Josh has just broken up with a girlfriend because she didn’t want kids, whereas Kristen is coming to terms with the fact that she won’t be able to have any. But Kristen doesn’t want to detract from her best friend’s upcoming wedding by sharing that news just yet.

The narrative style is not quite my cup of tea, but it suits the characters -- Kristen is blunt, down-to-earth and unembarrassed, this is definitely the way she’d tell it. I was curious how she and Josh would resolve things, and I appreciated that the narrative isn’t all light and fluffy -- there are some unexpected, and unexpectedly serious, developments before the expected happy ending.

For me, this was a perfect escape book! I was reading nothing but thrillers and thinking it was Valentine’s weekend, how about I try a Romcom!

Many, many people recommended this book, which I’ve been having collecting dust on my shelves for quite some time.

This romcom was a perfect diversion! I read it in less than a day and it made me laugh and cry throughout, the right amount of everything needed to make a romcom stand out!

Told from two POVs Josh and Kristen are the best man/maid of honor in their best friend’s upcoming nuptials. Kristen is unable to have children and Josh wanted a baseball team of kids. Their chemistry together was incombustible and it grew from a friendship into love. However, Kristen keeping the secret about her infertility from him, made sure that the “friend” line was not to be crossed!!

My takeaways: I don’t technically believe in love at first sight, but I do think you know when you meet the right person you are meant to be with happens VERY quickly! Friendship is crucial in finding that love, two people must have the same interests and values and likes to make it an everlasting love. When you find that person, don’t hold back life is too short!

I wish I would have read this when it debuted, but this weekend was the perfect time for me to read this book! ( )
