Jim Cornette and his collaborators delve into some legendary stories from the history of professional wrestling, making a nice companion to The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling. The Montreal Screwjob and Andy Kaufman's wrestling career are covered, as is is the surprising role of a fellow named Sputnik Monroe in desegregating sports arenas in the south.

I'd never heard of Cornette before putting this book on hold at the library, but shortly afterward, I saw a news article about him being fired from his wrestling announcer gig for making a racist joke during a show. ( )
