This was an interesting romance between an army veteran who was blinded and a young woman whose face was disfigured as a child. Both want to be normal, but that is not possible. Both want to be loved, but don't believe that is possible. They meet at a library where Sophie works and Colin goes to check out books written in braille. They strike up a friendship and later both hope for more.

This was an easy read. The story was engaging and I had a hard time putting it down. I was able to understand the struggles both characters were having even though I didn't always agree with some of their choices. This was my first book by Annabelle Costa and I am now interested in reading more from her. ( )
