Such an emotional and intense horror! I highly recommend. ( )

I started this as an audiobook and while I liked the narrators voice, I quickly became bored. I was tuning out too much. I'm glad I picked this one up on my Kindle and began physically reading it. Much was lost in the audio. Schwab did a great job at a slow building suspense and a gothic feel. I also really loved some of the concepts she threw in, mirror worlds, a mute main character, and more. ( )

I read this a while ago and kind of forgot exactly what I thought about it, but I do remember it being compelling and original and fun to read. So ig this review is kind of for myself, so I can read it again :> ( )

Wasn't bad. The world felt a bit empty to me. There was the orphanage and Gallant, and that was it.
I didn't think the ending was very satisfactory. ( )

I just not sure how i feel about this read. I am really struggling to rate it. I think vibes wise was very strong and would be about 4 star. But the plot with the vibes did not capture me and also i struggled to feel conencted to the main character. I enjoyed it but it did not wow me. I think the mixed media elements where fun but the stroy overall just lacked tension and that made me not that interested!! But i liked the vibes just not much else!! ( )
