You must watch this drama-documentary. It is incredible. Scary, astonishing, depressing, uplifting and enlightening. There are points at which you just can't believe this happened, points at which the number of lies created and denials made just make your jaw drop. There is a scene where the scientists are telling Gorbachev that they have 48 hours to stop the reactor destroying most of Eastern Europe and I'm just as stunned as the characters. I was in my late teens when Chernobyl happened and tbh I am very glad that we knew so little of what was happening because terror doesn't begin to cover it. Then, the sacrifice of so many of the USSR people to stop a catastrophe becoming so much worse - it's just unbelievable. ( )
