I would use this book with a first or second grade class during the winter in a weather unit. I would pair it with a book like Snowflake Bentley, and have the students compare the information in the two texts. I like the Magic School Bus Series because they always offer a generous amount of information on the science topic being presented. This book gave a lot of information about snow, weather, and how snow is made, in a child friendly way, also great for adults who enjoy a simple explanation. This book also gave safety tips, like never skate, or play on ice without an adult checking it for safety first. We got to learn about snow shoes and toboggans in this story which are things we do not have common knowledge of due to where we live. no reviews | add a review
