"With the unexpected death of Russian President Aleksandr Luganov, and Iran's efforts to acquire fully operational nuclear warheads successfully thwarted, American President Andrew Clarke decides the moment has come to unveil his comprehensive proposal to achieve peace between Israel and the Palestinians. However, when a series of senior American officials involved in the peace process are assassinated, Clarke orders Marcus Ryker and a team of CIA operatives to hunt down those responsible and bring the killing spree to an end. What Ryker uncovers is a chilling plot to kill the American president himself, but at first, it's unclear who is the driving force behind the plot. Is it the Russians, seeking payback for the assassination of Luganov? Is it the Iranians, in retaliation for the American operation to keep Tehran from acquiring nukes? Or is it another conspirator altogether, someone plotting to strike a blow against American hegemony in the Middle East and seize the leadership of the entire Sunni Muslim world? By the time Ryker and his team fully understand the plot and who's behind it, they find they have less than 96 hours to disrupt a terrible evil that has been set in motion"--… (more)

This was a great ending to this series. Non-stop action from beginning to end. Joel C. Rosenberg did another excellent job at writing a well researched novel. There was one thing in this novel I’d never heard of and I wanted to look it up to see if it really did exist, but frankly, I was afraid just looking it up would put me on some government watch list! Ha!

Marcus Ryker is always in the middle of a total mess with governments, spies, traitors, terrorists and friends! Yet, he always manages to get through it…not always as expected, but it’s an exciting life.

I’m looking forward to reading more new books from Mr. Rosenberg! ( )

The third book in the Marcus Ryker Series, and another great thriller. Marcus is back working for the security of the nation. A new group of terrorists have established themselves and Ryker has limited time to stop them. A fast, exciting thriller. I wish more people would give this author a try, he really is a great story-teller. ( )

Top notch political thriller: 4.5 stars, #3 in the Marcus Ryker series. Ryker is now working personal protection for the diplomatic service. His church is attacked by terrorists, who kill the Deputy Secretary of State for Middle East affairs and a close personal friend, before Marcus is able to intervene. Her successor is recalled from overseas, and assassinated in Washington DC by a mysterious new terrorist group based in Greece. Then a senior General is blown up outside 10 Downing Street by a body cavity bomb. The U.S. President wants his legacy to be peace in the Middle East, and develops a plan, which is pre-advised to key Arab and Israeli leaders. The de facto head of the Palestinians issues a scathing rebuke, but the King of Saudi Arabia welcomes the effort, and they agree to meet at the Temple Mount with the Prime Minister of Israel. A perfect opportunity for jihadists to attack, as the dying wish of the Iranian leader. Very realistic plot, helped immensely by Rosenberg's own depth of knowledge in the region. ( )

Excellent third book in Marcus Ryker series. This is a political thriller with exciting action towards the end of the book where everything came to a final showdown.

I found the buildup to be too long with so many characters. Unfamiliar with the middle eastern names, I had trouble keeping track of them. I rely on cast of characters at the front of the book, but on a kindle was not as easy as on a physical book. On top of that some characters have another alias, some with two! I wasn't aware that a long time has passed from book two. I was confused. ( )

Rosenberg is a good author. The story line is certainly current. ( )
