I never really thought I'd be captured ... Despite being born an Omega, I refused to spend my life in a facility, waiting for a suitable Alpha to claim me as his. Instead, with the help of my family, I broke the law, hiding among the Betas, trying to live a normal life. I enjoyed five years of freedom ... ... then they caught me. Now I've been chosen by Arius, the second most powerful Alpha in Sandor. The moment my scent reached him, overcome by the rut, he had to take me. As his mate, I can have anything my heart desires-anything he has the power to give. The only thing I don't have is a choice.… (more)

I really liked Tabitha Black's take on the Omegaverse. Even though there are some things that are familiar across all the Omegaverse books, each author puts their own spin on the genre.

Saskia tried to escape her destiny, but it got her anyway. She got picked up and hauled away in front of a bunch of Alphas, where Arius smelled her and decided that she was heaven. Or at least his fated mate.

I love the connection between Saskia and Arius. It develops quickly, but it's still very deep and very strong. I thought that Arius was a pretty good guy, who was occasionally blinded by certain things, but he still tried to do what was right and what was best. I think because of that, he was surprised when the rest of the world didn't react the way that he thought that it should.

Saskia is brave, strong, and sweet. I think that all of that ties together to make her an incredible human being who is going to do great things.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the rest of the series goes. I'd love to see Evander's story soon. ( )

I'm always on the lookout for new Omegaverse authors. This was a pleasant surprise that I wasn't expecting. Certain aspects of the story were great and others, in my opinion, needed to be fleshed out a little more in regards to world building. Still a good start though. ( )
