Listened to audio narrated by Holly Elise.

This is part of 5 of 6 short vignettes about Talyn a hybrid shifter who has finally been transitioned and thought most of her troubles were finally over, only to find out they are just beginning. Merck has finally done the deed but Drake along with other mutables and prehistorics are hunting Talyn down. All of them want to breed her, but do any of the care that she's more than a reproduction source? Most of the shifter inner dialogue is about breeding Talyn and very little about Talyn as a person to be cared for. There's more action in this segment and as always ending on a cliffhanger, to be continued.

Narah is determined to protect Talyn but she always seems to be coming on the scene a little late and has her own little dramas with her partners.

There's a lots of potential here but there's also continuity problems. The shifters are not suppose to be out to the public, yet they are running around in their half forms. It often feels like there are two stories here that are being forced to work together rather than interweaving seamlessly and the story is either missing sections or jumps over action details leaving a reader wondering exactly happened.

Like 'Shifter Alpha Claim 4 I want to like this book, there's lots of potential, but books 4 and 5 just didn't hold up as well as the first 3 in the series.
