I liked the setup for this series, and the characters are all fun. I am extremely predictable in that Q'arlynd is of course my favourite, because I love horrid little wizard men.

Decently strong writing, especially compared to some of the other FR books I've read. ( )

I really enjoyed the original War of the Spider Queen", so I had to read this series.

Introduced to a host of new characters with only the barest of ties to the original series. This was nothing spectacular [but who reads Forgotten Realms for the writing?] but I certainly wasn't rolling my eyes like in some of the Drizz't books." ( )

Descent story about the various drow factions and their deities doing a game and using them. Pretty interesting characters but pretty predictable plots, especially when you know two other books will follow. ( )
