I was excited to get more of The Kings, knowing how ruthless and cruel they each could be I didn’t expect Titan to be any different. I was curious to see who his love interest would be and went into it blindly, so I was shocked when I saw it was Emelie. Emelie was on and off with Titan’s buddy, Bones, for a very long time and when I found out Titan had been pining away for her for just as long was shocking since we never got a hint of it. After this surprise I thought I could shake it off and enjoy their story and while I did love the cruel Titan, I wasn’t so sure about Emelie. I get she is going through so much and was struggling, but she seemed to carry so much more feelings for Bones than Titan which I get because Titan isn’t the nicest person in the beginning. I felt Titan deserved someone who had their whole heart invested in him and not shared because even in the end I feel Emelie just decided to settle with Titan like he was a consolation prize. Overall, this book was still amazingly twisted, dark, and super steamy yet at times I feel like I read Bones’ story and not Titan’s. I must admit I’m still not a fan of Jasmine and really hope she isn’t getting with one of them or even Nite from COD. I’m still excited to read more about The Kings and their stories. ( )

Pretty good but more frustrations than I like in a book. Titan's character was fine and I enjoyed reading about him. Emilee was the frustration! I hated that her mother was sick with cancer but she leaves her alone all the time. She would go out with her friends at night to bars which didn't make sense because she was so worried about her mom. I hated the entire George scenario. I didn't care for the fact she had a past with Bones. She made so many stupid decisions that put her in danger too. ( )

This author knows how to write a book that sucks her audience in. From the first moment that the author teased about this series I was all in. ALL. IN. That excitement did not stop when I finally got my hands on this book. The suspense, the anticipation, the hints of darkness, the violence, and the connections between the characters had me both wanting to flip the pages as fast as I could as well as wanting to slow down because I never wanted it to end. That takes skill as a writer. And don't even get me started on the steam factor. Holy hell, she is always good but there is one scene in particular that I don't know how it was possible that she could up her game.

There was a great set-up to the world as well as the other characters without it taking away from Emilee and Titan. Even with the steamy moments it never overwhelmed the story. Instead, everything from the characters to the connections, to the suspense, to the conclusion kept me engrossed in the story and anxious for the next installment.

There were a few parts of the story that I wanted to be expanded on or that I wanted to understand better, but I am chalking that up to those questions or concerns being answered as the series progresses. I highly recommend this book.
