I like the series, the stories give a nice background, but shouldn't be read without reading the novels. I think they will feel random. ( )

Amusing tales and snippets from the city and its rivers, with a few outside excursions ( )

Fun stories, though reading them reminded me how central Kobna is to my enjoyment of this series. ( )

I normally judge a short story collection by whether I want more stories. In this case, I just wanted each of the stories to be a little longer - a bit more plot, a bit more characterisation, a bit more world-building. Yes, I enjoyed this. Not perfect, but I want more.

This is a great collection of short stories that most have only been available to people who bought the special Waterstone editions of the hardcover. I had read about half of these before but was more than happy to buy it to get the rest including an audio only story now in print for the first time. The collection fills in the cracks between the books. Some happening right after the end of the main story and some are just set on their own not bookending any particular story. This will tide any fan over until the next book comes out. ( )
