Cait Walker (who is 34) from Minnesota happily travels to London for the first time to meet a man (Derek Worthington III) she has been corresponding with online. She is to meet his family for Christmas and then he was going to show her the sights of London. When she arrives, she goes to a pub where they are to meet. But when she meets him he doesn’t look (or seem) like the man she has been corresponding with on the dating website. After this man steals her money and belongings, she knows she has been conned. While in the pub she meets another man, a gruff American from Chicago named Sam Holden (mid-30s) who is a photographer. He hears of her plight and offers her a temporary job as his assistant until Cait gets her credit cards, money, and belongings sorted out. But, the more time Cait spends with Sam, the more she doesn’t want it to end.

This was such an enjoyable short story. I totally loved the setting---London at Christmastime. I liked the characters. Cait was a nice heroine. Sam was a kind and thoughtful hero. A great book to read for the holidays. ( )
