"The Magical Garden of Claude Monet" by Laurence Anholt is a historic picture book. This book tells a story of the relationship between Monet and a little girl named Julie. Julies dog runs away and as Julie chases after her dog she stumbles upon the great Claude Monet who shows her amazing art, landscape, and shares his wisdom. This book is an easy, cute and inspiring read. I would recommend this book for grades pre-2nd. I would absolutely use this book in my classroom. ( )

In the fiction of Claude Monet, a girl and her dog have the visit of a lifetime. This picture book is beautifully written and illustrated. It encompasses lots of vibrancy and detail, which easily draw children in. Having one of the main characters as a young girl relates to children personally. This bright fiction description is a great way for children to get interested in art at such a young age. ( )
