I liked this romance novel because it was a bit longer than many, which left it space to actually develop the protagonists and their relationship. Wes and Justin meet in a study-abroad summer scheme in Paris, fall for each other, and then struggle to figure out if and how they can be together as Wes is not ready or prepared to come out to the football team where he's one of the stars. I get you need some drama in a romance novel to carry the story along, but I thought the overwhelmingly negative reaction in the team to Wes's outing didn't quite ring true for 2021. ( )
