This book was amazing!!!! It had me hooked from the very beginning!!! The plot was amazing and the author did an amazing job at being discriptive in her world building! I cant wait to read the next one! ( )

Very medieval. A good telling of an old story in new ways. At time a little slow but overall a good read. ( )

WOW. This book blew me out of the water and has left me stranded knowing that the next book doesn't come out until 2023! Although the start was a bit slow, by the half way point I couldn't read fast enough. I think what I enjoyed most about this book was how I never knew what was coming next! It is rare for me to find a book that has a plot that truly surprises me, but even still I am left in the dark as to where are characters are going next! I also really love the fact that things aren't spelled out too plainly - the reader is left to infer and connect the dots on their own which I really love. Overall I found this book entirely unique and it hooked me pretty quick! The only thing I was left wanting was stronger ties between the different character story lines. Toward the end I can certainly tell that in future books we will see the paths of these characters cross, but up until the mid way point it felt as though I was reading three entirely different stories. There is also much of this world that hasn't been fleshed out yet - How does the dream world work? How does one channel vigor? I am confident that these things will be delved into later down the line in the series, but truthfully I am not a particularly patient reader. But none the less I will anxiously await the release of Slavemarked! ( )
