A few are geared for boys with a few disgusting facts like spleens and ice cream fountain mountains. The book also gives helpful hints to writing poems by Jon Scieszka that the reader can try. Also in the back of the book there is a page of basic poetic terms. What a great idea! I liked all the poems in this book because they are short and easy to follow. I laughed at quite a few of these funny, and sometimes disgusting, poems. This anthology of poems would be great to get students interested in poetry because they can relate to the poems. There are a few poems that I really like. One is the Vegetarian Poem where word play is used. For example, "Do you carrot all for me? My heart beets for you." the other one I really like and it reminds me of a few people called “Hi, How Are You Today?” where the person is complaining in every line and in the end says “Thanks for asking, how are you?” no reviews | add a review
