I received a PDF copy of this book direct from the author as I have read and reviewed several of her other books.

While I think as a 62-year old male I am probably considerably older than the target market for this book, and the wrong gender, I enjoyed all seven of the short stories it contains.

It was good to catch up with some more adventures of the members of the Treasure family, particularly Amethyst and Clark Trouble, but I think that if you weren't at least a little bit familiar with these characters and the steampunk world they inhabit from reading previous books you would not enjoy them as much. (For those unfamiliar with Jordan Elizabeth's previous books in the Treasure Chronicles you may want to drop the rating to 3 out of 5.)

Having said that one of the author's strengths is how well defined this world is, and how it remains constant from book to book without any jarring inconsistencies that you sometimes find in similar series that may not have been either as well thought through or edited.

The stories contained in this book are otherwise self-contained, and a couple, such as "Treasure's Kiss" are real crackers. Others, while also very good, left me wanting to know more and wishing the story continued on further. "Run Of The Treasure" for example.

At only just over 100 pages of stories it is a quick read, and easily readable in just one session.

Highly recommended. ( )
