Nice book. Bought it for the hard to find 1930's pattern of the pieced butterfly on the cover. Will keep for the great history of Lowell MA and the Mill Girls. An unexpected treasure! ( )

[Foreword] The story of quilting is rooted in the lives of American women: from the earliest settlers in New England, to the nineteenth century "mill girls" who produced the cloth, to the fifteen million quilters today.
In the years surrounding the United States Bicentennial of 1976, quilting experienced an enormous renaissance.
