Main character Jordan has an absolutely terrible life; her boss steals her ideas, her family takes advantage of her, and her boyfriend is a royal scumbag. So when she is involved in an accident and sustains minor head trauma, she sees a perfect opportunity: she'll fake amnesia so she can have a "do-over" on her life. It's a farfetched premise, but it leads to some hilarious moments, and Jordan remains likeable despite her deceit. There's also a love triangle (well, more like a polygon) to spice things up, and it's not as predictable as you might think. Check it out for some fun, well-written chick lit. All I could say is....WOW~ i understand that this is currently being made into a film (hopefully one for television as it would be better suited). the end tied up nicely and predictably...BUT..... it was funny and fun to read. i zipped through it in a few hours and had a laugh out loud good time with it. girl fakes amnesia to start over - starts over - then really gets amnesia.....and yes...you guessed it....has to start over.....the time she spent trying to cover her tracks faking the amnesia was priceless. don't wait for the film....read the book first....! This book revolves around a thought that would tempt anyone who's been stuck in a rut with no idea how to fix your life: what if you could use amnesia as an excuse to become a different person? Jordan does exactly this by faking amnesia after a minor accident. The new Jordan, who as far as everyone else knows isn't burdened with the memories of her past behavior, can get away with rejecting her role as family doormat, can refuse to let her coworkers take advantage of her, and can ditch her cheating boyfriend. It's a light, funny, and enjoyable read that would be perfect for spring break beach reading! I hardly read the first five chapters before I was hooked to this book. I could see that some people might dislike that they mention amnesia on the backcover and feel as though it spoils the book, but it's nearly the whole point of the story. The main character, obviously uhappy in her life that was seeming to go either no where or downhill, uses it to change what she doesn't like about her life. Of course, it's only temporarily that she can use that before she has to learn to change on her own without the amnesia as an excuse. I thought it was a wonderful book with a great message! no reviews | add a review
