OSKAR After a little mishap in an alleyway with CCTV, my public image needs fixing. Oops? It might have been a stunt to get the attention of Lane Pierce, San Jose's new PR manager, but I didn't realize what the consequences would be when I did it. I've got Lane's sole focus now in all the wrong ways. He has designated himself as my babysitter, and while it's fun messing with him, being bound by curfews and rules has never worked for me. The more I push back, the more I realize what's really on the line. My career, my future, and maybe even my heart. LANE Being appointed head of San Jose's PR department was a dream come true … until I met Oskar Voyjik. He may be San Jose royalty, but with the stunts Oskar's been pulling, the team owner is down to his last thread of patience. Which puts me in the firing line. If I can't turn Oskar's entitled party boy image around, we'll both be shown the door. I have free rein to do whatever it takes, and it turns out whatever it takes is Oskar. Only, the more entangled our lives become, the more I see the Oskar he's buried deep down. The one who hurts, the one who's sensitive and kind, the one … the one I think I'm falling for. I can't have him and my career, and if rumors of the professional lines I've crossed get out, it's not only my dream job I can kiss goodbye; I'll be disgraced from professional sports completely.… (more)

So umm this review I wrote when I finished the book seems to have gone totally into the gremlin world of cyberspace!

So lets go again!

Oskar and Lane, oh the tension right from the first chapter!

This is a wonderful addition to this series and a couple that definitely needed their story told.

and the cameos sprinkled throughout made me smile

PR manager Lane Pierce has done about all he can to rein in the public scandal that is Oskar Voyjik. There's only one thing left - take over. Oskar will have to sign over his life to Lane's every whim or they both will be in the market for new jobs.

Oskar is the king of bad decisions but his latest decision to have a threesome in an alley under cameras takes the cake. Because now Lane Pierce is on his case - and Lane never reacts the way Oskar expects.

Similar to the last two books, Shameless Puckboy has humour, snark, flirting, adorableness and spice. If you loved the last two, this one definitely doesn't disappoint. On the other hand if you're looking for something different - you won't really find it here either.

Me? I'm a fan. I loved this. It was sweet and adorable and spicy and hilarious. Lane knows how to shut Oskar down and Oskar knows how to push all of Lane's buttons. I loved the dynamic between them, they were snarky and mean and nice and kind and understanding. I loved that Lane takes the time to look under all of Oskar's layers and find what's going on - even if Oskar drives him mad. There were depths to Oskar - many more than I expected there to be actually - but it worked well. And I liked how Lane comes up with safe ways for Oskar to exercise his exhibitionist streak without risking his career.

On the other hand my biggest problem with this book was that Lane does in fact come up with multiple ways for Oskar to exercise his exhibitionist streak without risking his career and then just decides to ignore them all. I'm not sure who I was more annoyed at - Lane or Oskar. They both knew better, both were at serious risk of being fired - and they still did it anyway. Lane was perhaps worse though. His whole job was to stop it and he ends up encouraging the whole thing. It was just irritating. I didn't exactly agree with management but also - they were reckless and stupid and careless - knowing the consequences. So that soured the book for me a bit.

Still, the large majority was fantastic and had me laughing, wincing and swooning with delight. And I adored that Damon from Finley's Fake Boyfriend series makes an appearance. 4.5 stars, rounded to 5 stars. ( )
