Being gullible is one thing, but being thrown into a situation where you have no control can be nerve wrecking. Signing on the dotted line can be a very dangerous thing. So dangerous that you have to fight to stay alive with no one to help you in the end. All you have is your own wits and playing the game to survive.

Who would not like the chance to be a better version of yourself?

I think every person will raise their hand in agreement with this. So did Anne and Cynthia. The two main characters in this book by J. Jaffray. I like to take a change to new authors and when they offer a book for free; I welcome the opportunity to get to know them.

The plotline was a topic we all can relate to but then once they are in the spa, the normal changed into something of a mystery and I was hooked. The writing itself was crisp and clear that get to the point right away. Making it a fast-paced read.

Once these two women realise, they were indeed captured and that the entire thing was a ruse; they had to work together to survive. Team building reached a new meaning and we read how these two women had to take control of a situation where they were not in control at all.

Both women came from a sorry past. They both had reasons for joining. Both were utterly alone with no one who cared enough if they disappear for weeks or never come back. Already this was a clue that this was no ordinary set up.

A fascinating story that takes you into the mindset of a 'lab rat' to explore what you would do to not only survive but to get away in one piece.

Definitely a must read for everyone who likes the unexpected. Thanks for the freebie. ( )
