Rather dry - too detailed for kids that are not "into" fighting and war. ( )

A collection of 10 short stories offering some insight into key events in the first "modern" war, World War 1.
This book contains stories of bravery and courage in appalling conditions, heroism and disaster and loss from this "war to end all wars".
The stories include the unofficial truce during the first Christmas, the Zepplin campaign of terror over London, The Battle of the Somme where 20,000 men lost their lives in one day, an army refusing to fight, the front-line nurses and a great naval battle in 1916. ( )
